Major Update – 2026 Road Intensive Program
Cycling Association Yukon is thrilled to announce the launch of our 2026 Road Intensive Program, running April–June 2026 and building directly on the incredible successes of the 2025 season. This initiative represents a major next step in our long-term pathway toward the 2029 Canada Summer Games, with enhanced high-performance training for U17/U19 athletes and opportunities for U15 riders to develop with mentorship from older athletes.
The program will feature structured Monday and Wednesday practices, a Haines Road Training Camp, a weekly crit series in May, Yukon Championships, and national-level competition opportunities in Quebec in late June/early July.
Coaching RFP – Now Open
CAY is accepting proposals for a Head Coach to lead the 2026 Road Intensive Program. The RFP is linked here.
The Head Coach will:
- Deliver Mon/Wed practices (Apr 13–Jun 17)
- Design TrainingPeaks plans
- Lead the Haines Road Training Camp
- Provide race coaching at Road Nationals & Coupe de l’Avenir (both in Quebec)
- Design crit courses and support local racing
- Ensure safe, inclusive, athlete-centered programming
RFP Requirements (2 pages max):
Coaching experience, philosophy, delivery plan, certifications, optional assistant coach proposal.
Top-scoring proposal will be selected. No interviews will be conducted.

This program is grounded in community participation and inclusive development.
Athletes (U15/U17/U19)
- Join a structured, progressive spring program
- Access skill development, intensity sessions, and local racing opportunities
- U17/U19 athletes will be eligible to represent Team Yukon at Road Nationals/Coupe de l’Avenir
Adult Participants
- Participate as sweep/safety riders for Wednesday practices
- Support local racing and event delivery - join in the fun!
- E-bike support welcome
Affiliate Clubs
- Participate in and help deliver the crit series and spring events
- Engage in a coordinated racing calendar that benefits the entire cycling community
