HopOn Kids cycling program
Last updated: July 10, 2025

What is it?
HopOn is a games-based cycling program, run in partnership with Cycling Canada that teaches school-aged kids across our country the joys of cycling safely.
HopOn levels
The HopOn program uses a colour-coded levels system to help identify the skill levels of different riders. Programming will be adapted on an individual basis so that all participants can be challenged and learn
HopOn is designed for kids who already know how to ride and wish to advance their bicycle skills. This program is a course for kids who can pedal their bike without training wheels. Learn more about HopOn's levels here.
HopOn Yukon
Since 2023, the Cycling Association of Yukon has been partnering with Recreation and Parks Association of Yukon (RPAY), Terra Riders, and Community leaders to deliver HopOn programming in Whitehorse, Haines Junction, Teslin, Watson Lake, and Dawson City. Starting in Spring 2025, Terra Riders was piloting HopOn programming in select schools throughout the Yukon, as well. The plan is to continually expand the program and see 200 more youth riding their bikes.
HopOn Bridge
HopOn Bridge Programming is new for 2025 and is meant to be the next step in your athlete's cycling journey: Taking their new knowledge and skills and focusing on a specific discipline. Throughout Summer/Fall 2025, CAY is offering Bridge programming in Mountain Biking and BMX, with plans to expand for 2026.
All of our HopOn programming and registration details can be found on our Event Calendar.
