Description
Welcome to HopOn! The Cycling Association of Yukon is pleased to offer HopOn Bridge programming this summer in partnership with local experts
What is HopOn? HopOn is a games-based program meant to introduce kids to cycling in a fun, safe, and engaging environment with NCCP-trained coaches. Learn more at www.hoponcanada.ca.
HopOn Bridge Programming is intended to be the next step in your cycling journey: Take your confidence and use it to build skills in specific disciplines like mountain biking, road cycling, or BMX.
The program will start at the Riverdale Skate Park and will run July 16th from 6:30 - 8:00 pm and Saturday, July 9th from 10:00 - 11:30 am. Further sessions will be scheduled and delivered based on participant interest
IMPORTANT: Participants in this program should be 10 - 14 years old and be able to turn quickly on their bike, look behind them while riding straight, roll off a sidewalk curb, and stand on their pedals while riding.
They will also need their own bike with a fully functioning drivetrain along with a well-fitting and a good quality helmet.
The program is led by certified ripper Oriel Flam Shepherd who has over 10 years of experience coaching BMX in Ontario. He is currently working on his full NCCP HopOn training
Registration cost: FREE with a Cycling Association of Yukon Community (Non-competitive) membership ($40)
Cycling Association of Yukon gratefully acknowledges the financial support of Cycling Canada, Sport Canada's Community Sport for All Initiative, and the Recreation and Parks Association of Yukon which make this program possible!
