Description

The official Yukon Championships for road cycling, sponsored by Yukon Energy.

This is a 5-part stage race consisting of a hill climb, criterium, circuit race, time trial and road race. You must participate in all 5 events to win overall, but you can also just enter single or multiple events.

  • Thursday, June 10. Hill climb prologue. 7:00 p.m. Start at mail boxes on Pine St, go up the hill towards Ponderosa, down bike path into Takhini, turn around before gate by broomball arena and return to top of hill by Ponderosa, by yellow gate for the finish. Parking at the finish area by yellow gate. Distance is 5.75 km.
  • Friday, June 11. Criterium. 6:30 p.m. Titanium Way. Meet at dirt parking lot next to Ducks Unlimited (do not park in business parking area). 20 minutes for youth, 50 to 60 minutes for teens and adults.
  • Saturday, June 12. Circuit race. 9:00 a.m. Whistle Bend subdivision. Meet at pond by Dragon Fly Park; paved loop around the storm run -off pond. You can park on Tarahne Way on the side by where the apartment buildings are going up. We will be riding around the pond loop for the event. 30 minutes.
  • Saturday, June 12. Time trial. 6:00 p.m. Titanium Way. Meet at dirt parking lot next to Ducks Unlimited (do not park in business parking area). 10 km for youth and 20 km for teens and adults.
  • Sunday, June 13. Road race. 11:00 a.m. Army Beach to Jake's Corner return loop. 25, 50 or 73 km distances.

Cost

U Kon Echelon members pay $2 per event or $10 for 5 events. $10 per event for non-members (sign a waiver to enter as non-member).

To participate in this event, you need a CAY membership and a U Kon Echelon club or race-only membership.
