Description

U Kon Echelon is putting on a fat bike event for Yukon Rendevous! Ever seen the iconic "Breaking Away" cycling movie? This is it, but fat bike style! Come one, come all.

Age categories

Youth, teens and adults.

Duration

1 hour to 1.5 hours, depending on age category.

Route

Hidden Lake in Porter Creek. Loop style race.

Start and finish times

Youth race: 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

We will use a loop on Hidden Lake for youth. The loop is about 1 km around and youth will ride around as many times as they can in the hour, solo or in partners, with breaks as required. We have small fat bikes will fit riders 4’5 up to 5’4. Bikes can be shared; there’s 3 fat bikes for smaller folks, plus mediums and larges. Bring sleds to go sliding. Food and drink provided after race.

Teems and adult race: 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Do as many loops as you can. Start at Hidden Lake, go up the hill to the power line, back to Porter Creek Secondary School, behind baseball diamonds and back down to the lake. Last 30 minutes is as many lake laps as you can do.

Meet at the Porter Creek Secondary School parking lot to check in between 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Location

Porter Creek Secondary School parking lot. 1405 Hickory Street. We will ride down to the start together.

To participate in this event, you need to have a U Kon Echelon club or race-only membership, which includes a 2022 CAY membership.
