Do you love cycling and want the skills to be able to teach others your passion? Come join the Cycling Association of Yukon (CAY) Learn to Coach Course! Using the Canadian Cycling Association curriculum, you will spend time in class as well as on the bike learning strategic skills for coaching all types of cycling.
Sunday October 18th, 2015 – Basic Cycling Skills
Bring your bike for this 8-hour (mostly) on-bike course focused on teaching and analysis, detection and correction of errors, using lesson plan templates and practice coaching sessions. This course is common to both the Community Initiation and Introduction to Competition coaching pathways. Instructor: Ian Parker
November 21/22, 2015 – Ready to Race! Training to Race
14 hour classroom-based course focused on designing and managing training programs, performance analysis and support in competition. Primarily offered for coaches who successfully completed the Ready To Race! Training Basics course, but also open to others just getting started in the Introduction to Competition coaching pathway. Instructors: Ian Parker and Susan Clarke
CAY is hosting both courses at Sport Yukon (4061-4th Avenue, Whitehorse, YT Y1A 1H1).
Courses start at 8:30 ending at 4:30
Admission is free!
Bring a lunch or money to buy a lunch.
Please bring a bike (any functioning bike) to the Basic Cycling Skills Course on October 18.
